Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision - C16-261415

On Wednesday, December 14th, 2016 at approximately 2:45 pm, members of the Winnipeg Police Service and Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were dispatched to the report of a serious motor vehicle collision on the Disraeli Freeway near Argyle School.

Investigation has revealed that a Saturn SL1 was travelling northbound on the Disraeli Freeway when it crossed over the centre median and was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Cavalier.

The driver of the Saturn, a 25-year-old male, was transported to the hospital in stable condition while his passenger, a 33-year-old female, was transported to the hospital in critical condition and succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the Cavalier was treated for minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6271.
