Friday, January 27, 2017 Serious Assault Update – Arrest: C17-17132 As previously released: On January 24, 2017, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Winnipeg Police and Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a report of a female who had been assaulted in the 1000 block of Sherburn Street. Responding units located an adult female who was suffering from a stab wound to the upper body. She was transported to a hospital in critical condition, however, she has since been upgraded to stable. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival. At approximately 8:30 p.m. a male forced his way into a home on Buchannan Boulevard where he was able to steal a set of keys and a vehicle. The West District Crime office had undertaken the investigation and on January 26, 2017, the male suspect was arrested.
