Update - Homicide Investigation - C16-247965

As previously released -On November 26, 2016, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received reports of gunshots being heard in the area of Donald Street and Stradbrook Avenue. Responding officers discovered two males suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Both males were transported to hospital in critical condition.
A 32-year-old male did not survive his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Theodoros BELAYNEH. He was a resident of Edmonton, Alberta. A second victim was also shot during the incident.
The investigation is on-going involving members of the Homicide Unit.
Investigators are asking members of the public for any information regarding the shooting. The victim, Theodoras BELAYNEH was shot and killed while in the front passenger seat of a grey 2013 Acura ILX, while travelling northbound on Donald Street, near the intersection at Stradbrook Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was also seriously injured, but has since been upgraded to stable condition.
A number of other vehicles were also observed at the intersection at the time of the shooting. Investigators are attempting to identify the people who were in these vehicles, in particular, a newer model, smaller, light grey or silver sport utility vehicle (SUV), possibly a Jeep Cherokee or Range Rover. It is believed that this vehicle was being operated by a Caucasian female.
Another vehicle of interest is a four door newer model, black BMW sedan. The BMW was observed to have several occupants at the time of the shooting.
