Child Sexual Abuse Imagery Arrest - R16-0049691
As a result of a lengthy investigation, members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) identified a Winnipeg resident as having uploaded child sexual abuse imagery from a known chat room site.
   
The image was reported and members of the ICE unit commenced an investigation.
   
On February 8, 2017, officers attended to a residence in the Transcona area of the city and executed a search warrant with the assistance of the Technological Crimes Unit and East District patrol.
   
Donald MILLER, 69-years-oldhas been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
   
Possession of Child Pornography
Imports, Distributes, Sells or Possesses for the Purpose of Distribution or Sale any Child Pornography
   
He was remanded into custody. 
   
   
Robbery Investigation Arrests - C17-27608
On January 29, 2017 at approximately 2:30 a.m., a pizza delivery driver was confronted and robbed by two male suspects while in the area of the 200 block of Oakview Avenue.
   
Prior to the delivery, it's alleged that one of the suspects contacted the pizza business and placed an order with intentions of robbing the victim.
   
On January 30, 2017 at approximately 2:10 p.m., two males attended to the 100 block of Leighton Avenue for the purpose of purchasing an iPhone after responding to an online ad.
   
The victims were confronted by the suspects, one of which was armed with a large machete. The victims were robbed of cash and the suspects fled. No one was injured during the confrontation.
   
Members of the East District Crime Unit were notified and initiated an investigation.
   
On February 8, 2017, investigators responded to an online ad regarding the sale of an iPhone. Arrangements were made to meet in the same area as the previous incident.
   
Two male youths were taken into custody due to the efforts of the East District Crime Unit, Uniform Patrol and Canine.
   
The suspects were found to be in possession of a large machete and a revolver style pellet gun.
   
A 15 year old and 17-year-old have been charged with robbery and several weapon-related offences.
   
They were remanded into custody.
