Stolen Vehicle – Arrest: C17-23989
On February 2, 2017, at approximately 8:40 p.m., an East District General Patrol unit observed a stolen vehicle in the area of Watt Street and Chalmers Avenue. Upon seeing the marked police car the suspect vehicle made a quick turn and crashed into a snow bank. The three occupants fled on foot as police approached.
   
With the assistance of the Canine Unit and Air-1, officers were able to track the driver to the 400 block of Neil Avenue where he was located after climbing approximately 30 metres up a tree. The suspect complied with police instructions to climb down and was arrested.
   
Dallas ROSS, 20-years-old, of Winnipeg, has been charged with the following offences:
   - Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
   - Possess Weapon
   
Ross was detained in custody. Two other occupants of the vehicle remain outstanding.
   

Thefts Arrests – C17-23795
In late December of 2016, Winnipeg Police Stolen Auto Unit began investigating a series of motor vehicle thefts from auto dealerships. In all, seven vehicles were stolen from various locations around the city.
   
On February 2, 2016, at approximately 2:00 p.m. police located two suspects in a stolen vehicle in the area of Magnus Avenue and Salter Street. They were arrested, one after a short foot chase.
   
A 17-year-old male youth was charged with numerous offences including Theft of Motor Vehicle x 7, Possess Goods Obtained by Crime, Possess Prohibited Weapon, Resist/Obstruct Peace Officer, and ten breaches of court orders.
   
A  16-year-old female youth was charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle x 5 and other related offences.
   
The male accused was detained in custody and the female suspect was released on Promise to Appear.
   
    
Stabbing Investigations - Arrest - C17-21744
On January 31, 2017, Winnipeg Police announced the arrest of a male in relation to a number of stabbings in the downtown area.
   
Jesse Neil NEDOHIN, 21 years old of Winnipeg had been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
   
  Aggravated Assault x 4
  Possession of a Weapon x 5
   
Further investigation has linked Nedohin with two additional incidents where victims in the downtown area had been stabbed.
   
On January 30, 2017, at approximately 7:40 p.m. an adult male was stabbed in an unprovoked attack in the 300 block of Portage Avenue. He was treated in hospital and released.
   
At approximately 9:30 p.m. an adult male was attacked in the 300 block of Donald Street. He was able to fight off his assailant without being injured.
   
Jesse Neil NEDOHIN has been charged with Assault with a Weapon x 2 and four court breaches related to these incidents and remanded in custody.
