Shots Fired Investigation - C17-25620
On February 5, 2017 at approximately 6:45 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Gateway Road and Munroe Avenue regarding the sound of shots.
   
At this time, the investigation has revealed that multiple people, along with a cab driver were confronted by the occupants of another vehicle. A suspect exited a vehicle and began discharging a firearm in the direction of the cab. The vehicle (cab) was struck several times, however no serious injuries were reported.
   
The suspect vehicle and occupants fled, including the occupants of the cab. The cab driver notified police and was treated for minor injuries.
   
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.

Drug Arrests - C17-25729
On February 5, 2017 at approximately 12:15 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the 200 block of Midwinter Avenue regarding a male possibly armed with a gun.
   
An investigation by East District Community Support, District 3 Community Support, Uniform Patrol and the Tactical support Team led to the arrest of six occupants from within a suite.
   
A quantity of methamphetamine, marihuana and replica firearms (bb/pellet guns) were located and seized after a warrant was executed.
   
The accused are facing drug related offences. Three were released on a promise to appear, the remainder were remanded into custody.
