Fire Incident - C17-0039861

Officers Assist Several Occupants to Safety:

As previously released -On February 25, 2017 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Division 11 officers were patrolling in the area of the 500 block of Spence Street when they observed the porch of a residence engulfed in flames.

It was determined that two residents were able to exit safely, however additional occupants remained inside and were believed to be trapped.

Officers entered the smoke filled, multi-level home and assisted several trapped individuals who were having difficulty breathing.

Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service attended and treated the occupants, including the officers involved for smoke inhalation.

Damage is estimated at $80,000.00 and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
