Aggravated Assault Arrests - C17-53889
On March 16, 2017 at approximately 1:45 p.m., a group of males attended to a school parking lot located in the 400 block of Church Avenue for the purpose of confronting a male student regarding a previous matter.
   
The suspects, armed with a knife and baton located the 16 year old male at which time a verbal dispute erupted. The victim fled and attempted to defend himself. He was eventually knocked to the ground and physically assaulted about the body. A knife was then produced and the victim was stabbed in the upper body before the involved males fled the area on foot.
   
Emergency services were notified and the victim was transported to hospital in critical condition, later upgraded to stable.
   
Due to the collaborative efforts of numerous Winnipeg Police resources including, Patrol members, Street Crimes, Community Support, School Resource and the Tactical Support Team, the area was secured and the suspects were pursued.   
   
Shortly after 2:00 p.m., officers attended to a residence located in the 300 block of College Avenue.
   
An 18 year old male, 22 year old male and 21 year old male were located and placed under arrest.
   
Members of the District 3 Crime Unit continued to investigate.
   
18 year old - Aggravated Assault
   
22 year old - Aggravated Assault
   
21 year old - Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Possession of a Weapon
   
The investigation is continuing.
   

 

Aggravated Assault Arrest - C17-54291
On March 17, 2017 at approximately 1:25 a.m., emergency services responded to the area of the 200 block of Langside Street regarding an injured male.
   
The victim, a 22 year old male was observed to have sustained multiple injuries requiring immediate medical attention. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition.
   
Attending members located a 23 year old male suspect nearby and placed him under arrest.
   
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate, charges are pending.
