Weapons – Arrest: C17-44977
On March 3, 2017, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a male with a weapon on a City of Winnipeg transit bus.
   
General Patrol officers were dispatched to the intersection of Watt Street and Narin Avenue where they arrested a 22-year-old male.
   
The accused male had apparently boarded the bus near Regent Avenue and Bond Street shortly after 9:00 p.m. While seated on the bus the accused was observed by two male passengers to be in possession of an axe, and brass knuckles. These passengers were able to disarm the accused without incident.
   
The accused male had been escorted off the bus by the driver and passengers without incident when the bus stopped at Watt Street and Narin Avenue. Officers arrested the male who was then standing on the sidewalk. There were no injuries reported.
   
The accused was detained in custody. He was charged with:
 - Possession of a Weapon x 2
 - Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Recognizance x 2.
