Update - Homicide Investigation – Arrests: C17-51335
As previously released -Winnipeg Police Homicide Investigators have made two arrests in the shooting death of Shania Chanel CHARTRAND. Chartrand was killed on March 12, 2017, while she was in the 200 block of Spence Street.
   
Lacy SOROKOWSKI, 22 years,was arrested on April 7, 2017. She was charged with Second Degree Murder and Possess Controlled Substance for the Purpose Trafficking (Methamphetamine).
   
Christopher Ryan St. PAUL, 24 years,was arrested on April 7, 2017. He was charged with Second Degree Murder.
   
Both accused were detained in custody.
   
The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit as further arrests were pending.
   
On April 11, 2017, officers attended to a residence located in the 200 block of Atlantic Avenue regarding a robbery investiagtion.
   
During the early morning hours, two males and a femalewere arrested and taken into custody. All three were charged in relation to a robbery incident that ocurred on Atlantic Avenue. The two males were also charged regarding a commercial robbery at a video store located in the 1300 block of Main Street.
   
Furthermore, of the three arrested, Tyrone Anthony CHIPPEWAY, 22 years old and Ashley Marie BEZECKI, 27 years old have also been charged with Second Degree Murder in connection to the death of Shania CHARTRAND.
   
They have been remanded into custody.
