Robbery Arrests: C17-99221
On May 11, 2017 at approximately 4:25 p.m. four adult males attended to a bank in the 100 block of Provencher Boulevard. Two of the males entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. All males fled the bank in a vehicle.
A short time later, the vehicle used to flee the bank was located. Members of the Winnipeg Police Service, while searching the area, observed two of the suspects in the 100 block of Alpine Avenue. The suspects fled on foot. With the assistance of a canine unit, one of the males was taken into custody in the 600 block of Niakwa Road.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. officers located and arrested two of the suspects in the area of Des Meurons Street and Humboldt Avenue.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., a fourth suspect was located and arrested in the area of St. Anne's Road and Bishop Grandin Boulevard.
Money stolen from the bank was recovered. No injuries were reported.
The following males have been charged with Robbery, Possess Weapon, Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition and Disguise with Intent:
Lindon HUNTER,27 years old of Mississauga, ON
Denzel DOMFEH, 22 years old of Etobicoke, ON
Travis WALKER, 30 years old, of Ontario
Nicholas SMITH, 23 years old, of Mississauga, ON
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
Homicide Update - Arrest: C16-247965
As previously released:On November 26, 2016, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received reports of gunshots being heard in the area of Donald Street and Stradbrook Avenue. Responding officers discovered two males suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Both males were transported to hospital in critical condition.
A 32-year-old male did not survive his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Theodoros BELAYNEH. He was a resident of Edmonton, Alberta. A second victim was also shot during the incident.
On January 2, 2017 members of the Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit arrested a 23-year-old female and charged her with a number of offences related to the incident.
The homicide unit continued to investigate and on May 11, 2017 member of the Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit arrested:
Julian Donally TELFER, 30-years-old, of Winnipeg.
He has been charged with First Degree Murder and Attempt Murder.
