Monday, June 19, 2017 Homicide Arrest: C17-132335 On June 17, 2017, at approximately 4:30 a.m., a Winnipeg Police general patrol unit observed a number of people in front of a residence in the 500 block of Spence Street. The officers stopped to investigate and located a deceased female on the front porch. The victim has been identified as Marilyn OSHAWEE, 37. A number of people were arrested and subsequently released without charges. Fenisha PEEBLES, 28, of Winnipeg, has been arrested and is now charged with Manslaughter. She has been detained in custody. Homicide Investigation: C17-173303 On June 18, 2017, at approximately 6:15 p.m., emergency services personnel responded to a report of a male down in the front yard of a residence in the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue. The male was transported to hospital, however he was subsequently pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as William George SUMMER, 27. This investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477). Commercial Robberies - Arrest: C17-131543 & C17-131919 On June 16, 2017 at approximately 12:00 p.m. a financial institution in the 1300 block of Plessis Rd. reported a robbery. A lone suspect received an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing. Winnipeg Police general patrol officers attended and entered into an investigation. On the same date, at approximately 6:30 p.m. a financial institution in the 1600 block of Regent Ave. West reported a robbery. A lone suspect received an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing. Through the course of the investigation officers were able to identify a suspect for both robberies. At approximately 7:50 p.m. the suspect was located in the 400 block of Henry Ave. were he was arrested. Gerald Joseph PILON, 60-years-old,has been charged with the following offences: Armed Robbery Using a Firearm Possess Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order Robbery Possess Weapon |
