Residential Fire - C17-152406
On July 11, 2017 at approximately 6:00 a.m., Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a house fire in the 200 block of Martin Ave W.  
   
First responders located and removed an adult female from the residence and immediately began CPR. The female succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
   
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended and secured the residence. Investigators have not yet determined the cause of death and will continue to investigate.
   
Firearm – Arrest: C17-0151802   
On July 10, 2017, at approximately 1:30 pm, General Patrol unit members responded to a dispute at an apartment in the 400 block of Young Street. Upon arrival, two female suspects were located and placed under arrest.
   
A search of a bag carried by one of the females resulted in the recovery and seizure of a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun along with ammunition.
   
A 17-year-old female has been charged with:
   
  - Possession of a Weapon
  - Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  - Unauthorized Poss of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
  - Poss of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  - Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  - Fail to Comply with Sentence x2
  - Warrant for Arrest (Fail to Comply with Sentence x2)
   
She was detained in custody.
   
Thelma Krull – Investigation: C15-145099  
Today marks the two-year disappearance of Thelma Krull, who last seen on July 11, 2015 in the East Kildonan area.
   
Thelma had gone for a walk at 7:23 a.m. and is believed to have walked from her residence in the Grassie area to an area known as Civic Park near the Kildonan-East Collegiate. She had arrived in this area at approximately 8:00 a.m.
   
Several items belonging to Thelma have been recovered which include her glasses and cellular phone.
 
 
 
 
Thelma is described as a Caucasian female, 5'4" tall, 170 pounds and short dyed blonde hair with a purple streak. Investigators would like to remind the public that Thelma was last seen wearing the following items:
   

  • Reddish – orange t-shirt (this is a bright coloured shirt)
  • ¾ length black Capri style pants
  • Black fanny pack
  • tan / brown hiking style boots / shoes

 
Following our news release on July 11, 2016, information was received regarding a possible sighting of Thelma Krull in the area of Kimberly Avenue, east of Gateway Road. A female with similar descriptors of Thelma Krull was reported to be in the company of a heavy set male, Indigenous in appearance, approximately 5'8" tall, 270 lbs., with a bowl style haircut.
   
It has been determined that this information has formed a significant part of the investigation.
   
Homicide investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have information regarding this male or a possible sighting of Thelma in his company near Kimberly Avenue and Gateway Road.
   
We continue to ask anyone with information that hasn't yet spoken with investigators to come forward.
