Carjacking – Arrests: C17-189399
 
On August 24, 2017, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a 51-year-old male victim had parked his car in the 2300 block of Pembina Highway and had begun to walk away when he realized he had left his keys in the ignition.
 
Upon returning to the parking lot, he saw a number of suspects inside his vehicle as it began to drive away. The victim ran to the vehicle, which was now at Dartmouth Drive and Pembina Highway, and attempted to open the front passenger door.
 
The driver of the stolen vehicle sped off, turning northbound onto Pembina Highway. The victim was dragged approximately 10 feet and suffered minor injuries before the vehicle fled the area. 
 
A West District General Patrol supervisor quickly located the stolen vehicle in the area of Point Road and Pembina Highway. With the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, the vehicle was brought to a stop in the 300 block of Osborne Street.
 
Three suspects were arrested and taken into custody. An airsoft firearm and machete were located on the male suspect. A female suspect was found to be responsible for an unrelated theft on July 11, 2017 in the Central St. Boniface area where several items including a wallet were stolen from a vehicle.
 
A 15-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:
 
- Robbery
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge
- Possession of a Weapon (x2)
- Carrying Concealed Weapon (x2)
 
A 17-year-old female of Winnipeg has been charged with:
 
- Robbery
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Sentence (x2)
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
- Theft under $5,000
 
A 14-year-old female of Winnipeg has been charged with: 
 
- Robbery
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
- Fail to Comply Condition Undertaking by Judge/Justice
 
They were detained in custody.
