Stabbing – Investigation: C17-238424 
 
On October 21, 2017, at approximately 4:30 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a residence in the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue for a report of a male who had been stabbed. 
 
Upon arrival, officers located an injured adult male. The victim, a 25-year-old male of Winnipeg, was transported to hospital in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable condition.
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
Traffic Stop/Officer Dragged – Investigation: C17-238359
 
On October 21, 2017, at approximately 2:15 a.m., members of the District 3 Community Support Unit observed a sedan traveling in 300 block of St. Mary Avenue with fresh damage to the side of the vehicle.
 
Officers conducted a traffic stop and the male driver was found to be the subject of two arrest warrants and court-ordered conditions. As the driver was placed under arrest, he sped off and dragged the officer for approximately 75 meters before he was able to free himself.
 
A short time later, the vehicle was located unoccupied in the 200 block of Balmoral Street after it had hit two parked vehicles. The officer was treated in hospital for minor injuries.
 
Investigators have identified a suspect in this incident; however, the Winnipeg Police Service is unable to release the name until an arrest warrant has been issued.

Homicide – Investigation: C17-238151
 
On October 20, 2017, at approximately 10:45 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a residence in the 700 block of Sherbrook Street for the report of a male who had been shot.
 
Upon arrival, officers located an injured adult male. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
