Serious Assault – Public Assistance Requested: C17-250283

The Winnipeg Police Major Crimes Unit would like to thank the public for their assistance. The below noted adult male suspected has been identified. He was arrested on December 12, 2017, charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm, and released on a Promise to Appear.

Previously released:

On November 4, 2017, Winnipeg Police were advised of a serious assault that had just occurred. The 28-year-old victim was riding a Winnipeg Transit bus at approximately 7:30 p.m. in the area of Portage Avenue and Balmoral Street.

Two unidentified parties on the same bus began to argue. The victim attempted to calm the situation when a third, unidentified male passenger approached and became confrontational. This male struck the victim in the face causing significant facial injuries. The suspect fled out the rear door of the bus.

The suspect is described as a male in his late 20's to early 30's, dark haired goatee, approximately 6'.
