Homicide – Update/Arrest: C17-180360
 
On January 16, 2018, the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit requested the public's assistance in locating the following male:
 
 
Matthew Marjanovic, a 29-year-old male of Winnipeg.
 
Marjanovic was wanted in connection to the August 13, 2017, death of Mustafa Peyawary and it was believed he could be in the Vancouver or Alberta (Edmonton or Calgary) area.
 
A Canada-wide arrest warrant for First Degree Murder was issued for Marjanovic, and on January 19, 2018, at approximately 7:20 p.m., he was arrested following a traffic stop on the St. Vital Bridge by members of the Tactical Support Team.
 
Marjanovic was turned over to members of the Homicide Unit and has been detained in custody.
