Drugs – Arrests
During the evening of March 12, 2018, members of the Street Crime Unit, along with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the River Heights area.
Three individuals were taken into custody and an investigation has led to the seizure of a number of items including the following:
- 2,057 blotters believed to contain fentanyl/carfentanil (estimated street value of $41,140).
- 48 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value of $7,200).
- Packaging materials.
- Digital scale.
- Mobile phones.
A 26-year-old male of Winnipeg has been arrested for:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Import a Scheduled Substance
A 24-year-old female of Winnipeg has been arrested for:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
A 29-year-old female of Winnipeg has been arrested for:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Fentanyl
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
They were released on Promise to Appears.
Blotters or blotting papers are small pieces of highly absorbent paper that may contain the liquid solution of a drug. These papers are often perforated into individual doses.
The Winnipeg Police Service wishes to remind the public that if they come across any type of blotter or suspicious paper believed to contain a drug, please do not ingest or handle it and contact police.
