Robbery - Arrest: C18-65308
On March 31, 2018, at approximately 10:10 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted to a commercial robbery in the 300 block of Portage Avenue. It was relayed to police that a security officer was in pursuit of the suspect.
   
General Patrol officers attended and located the suspect in the custody of two security officers in the area of Portage Avenue and Kennedy Street. The suspect sustained two cuts during the robbery. He was transported to hospital, treated and later released.
   
Officers learned that the suspect confronted and threatened an employee with a knife, demanding the safe be opened. The employee was able to flee. The suspect then smashed two glass display cases and stole approximately $28,000 in jewelry before fleeing. All stolen property was recovered.
   
Brandon Cory RICHARDS, 33-years-old, of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Possess Weapon
  • Utter Threats
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He has been detained in custody.
   
   
Weapons - Arrests: C18-66514
On April 2, 2018, at approximately 12:50 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service Division 11 general patrol members attended to an address in the 500 block of Ellice Avenue in response to the report of a male threatened.
   
While investigating, officers located three persons within the residence believed to be responsible for the threats. Officers also located and seized the following items:
  ·         Two sawed-off firearms, wrapped in red bandanas
  ·         Baseball bat with a red bandana attached
  ·         Large sharpened animal jawbone with a sling and taped handle
  ·         Two hatchets, one wrapped with a red bandana
  ·         Black handled sword
  ·         Numerous rounds of .22 caliber ammunition
  ·         Numerous 12 gauge shotgun shells
   
Harold Wilkie MACE, 27 years old, of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Possess Weapon X9
  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm
  • Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance X4
  • Possession of a Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order X9
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized X5

 
Allison Danielle PARENT, 31-years-old, of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Possess Weapon X9
  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition X3
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm

 
Gwen Ginelle ROSS, 22-year-old, of Winnipeg has been charged with:

  • Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
  • Possess Weapon X9
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition X3
  • Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm

 
All three persons have been remanded into custody.
