An earlier version of this release had an incorrect incident number. It has been corrected below.

Disturbance: C18-81892

On April 22, 2018, at approximately 9:20 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of a loud audio message being played in the Osborne area. The message stated Canada was under attack by a nuclear threat.

Members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended the area and the audio ended.

An investigation has determined that the audio was taken from an online video and is a prank. It is not part of any official alert system and it was likely played through a home speaker system.
