Fraud Prevention
The Winnipeg Police Service is currently investigating several incidents where citizens have been scammed attempting to purchase Winnipeg Jets playoff tickets. The incidents involve the purchase of tickets online from popular buy & sell sites that are later discovered to be undelivered or not valid.
The Winnipeg Police Service is reminding individuals looking to purchase hockey tickets to only do so from persons known to them or through an appropriate ticket exchange venue. Buyers should be cautious when making any ticket purchases via the internet and never transfer tickets until the payment has been received.
Protect yourself: never agree to requests for payment without knowing the validity of the caller.
