Firearm – Arrest: C18-90304
 
On May 2, 2018, at approximately 11:15 p.m., East District General Patrol members were in the Glenwood area on an unrelated call for service when they were approached by an adult male who needed help with a property dispute.
 
Officers then attended to a residence in the 100 block of Egerton Road to assist the male. While speaking with another individual, they became aware that the male who had sought help from police was in possession of a firearm. 
 
The male was arrested and officers seized the following:
 
- A loaded single-shot "zip gun" improvised firearm capable of firing a .22 calibre cartridge.
- An additional eight .22 calibre cartridges.  
 
Jeremy Jason Werbiski, a 38-year-old male of Niverville, has been charged with:
 
- Carry Firearm in a Careless Manner
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x2)
 
He was detained in custody.
 
Drug Offences – Arrest: C18-89991
 
During the evening of May 2, 2018, members of the District 3 Community Support Unit, with the assistance of the Street Crime Unit and Tactical Support Team, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a suite of an apartment building in the 1400 block of Jefferson Avenue.
 
An investigation led to the seizure of a number of items including the following:
 
- 9 ounces of methamphetamine (approximate street value of $8,100)
- 9 ounces of marijuana (approximate street value of $2,250)
- 4 grams of cocaine (approximate street value of $320)
- Approximately $10,000 in Canadian currency
 
During the early morning hours of May 3, 2018, a male suspect was placed under arrest in the first 100 block of Gillson Street.
 
Trung Ngoc Truong, a 32-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cannabis (Marihuana)
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Cocaine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
 
He was detained in custody.
