Stolen Vehicle – Arrest: C18-150248
 
On July 12, 2018, at approximately 9:40 p.m., District 3 General Patrol members were patrolling the area of Selkirk Avenue and Sinclair Street when they observed a scooter motorcycle being operated at a high rate of speed.
 
Officers conducted a traffic stop and checks on the scooter's licence plate came back as belonging to a utility trailer. The scooter's ignition was also observed to be damaged.
 
The driver was placed under arrest. A search of the scooter resulted in the seizure of 14 grams of methamphetamine (estimated street value of approximately $1,750). $325 in Canadian currency was also seized from the driver.
 
The scooter was found to have been stolen between June 26 and June 27, 2018, from a residence in the Riverview neighbourhood.
 
William Markowski, a 43-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged:
 
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000
 
He was detained in custody.
