Homicide Investigation – Arrest: C18-112015  
As previously released:
   
On May 29, 2018, at approximately 12:40 a.m., emergency services responded to a report of shots fired in the 700 block of Corydon Avenue.  Upon arrival, Tactical Support Team officers located a 37-year-old male and a 28-year-old female, both suffering from gunshot wounds. 
   
A female victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.  The male victim, Noel Talingdan, was transported to hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.
   
On June 29, 2018, Eric John Boyle, a 30-year-old male, was taken into custody. He was charged with a number of charges including First Degree Murder and Attempt to Commit Murder Using a Firearm.
   
Members of the Homicide Unit continued with their investigation and requested the public's assistance with locating a second suspect, Joshua Lucien Peter Turner, a 24-year-old male.
   
On August 13, 2018, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Turner was taken into custody in the 400 block of Balmoral Street by members of the Tactical Support Team.
   
Turner has been charged with:
   
  - First Degree Murder
  - Attempt to Commit Murder Using a Firearm
  - Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x2)
   
He was detained in custody.
   
Homicide Investigation – Update: C18-170588   
As previously released:
   
On August 7, 2018, Winnipeg Police general patrol officers responded to a home in the first 100 block of Wordsworth Way to check the well-being of a resident. Upon arrival officers located 2 deceased adult males.
   
The two deceased have been identified as Kok Aun Tee, a 37-year-old male, and Luis Miguel Almeida, a 33-year-old male.
   
Investigators determined that the incident was domestic in nature and that Tee had been assaulted and sustained fatal injuries. Almeida's injuries were found to be self-inflicted.
   
Arson and Weapons – Arrests: C18-174837   
On July 16, 2018, at approximately 9:55 a.m., emergency services responded to a report of a fire at a vacant commercial building in the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue. Members of the public had observed smoke coming from the property and notified 911.
   
The fire was determined to be suspicious in nature and the building was a total loss with damages expected to exceed $100,000.
   
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation and identified two suspects.
   
On August 11, 2018, at approximately 3:10 p.m., Major Crime Unit investigators attended a residence in the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue and placed a male under arrest.
   
Donnovin David John Torresan, an 18-year-old male of Winnipeg,has been charged with:
   
  - Arson Causing Damage to Property
  - Possession of Incendiary Material
  - Break Enter & Commit – Place
   
He was detained in custody.
   
On August 12, 2018, at approximately 6:00 p.m. North District General Patrol officers attended a residence in the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue and placed a second male under arrest.
   
The male was found to be in possession of an improvised firing device (commonly known as "zip gun") that had been made from numerous bicycle parts.
   
A 16-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:
   
  - Arson Causing Damage to Property
  - Possession of Incendiary Material
  - Break Enter & Commit - Place
  - Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  - Possession of a Weapon
  - Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  - Fail to Comply Condition Undertaking by Judge/Justice (x3)
   
He was detained in custody.
   
Break & Enter and Carjacking – Arrest: C18-174579   
On August 20, 2014, at 1:20 a.m., a male attended a medical centre in the 800 block of Portage Avenue and broke a window in order to gain entry to the building. The male stole an undisclosed amount of medication and fled the area.
   
With the assistance of the Forensic Services Unit, forensic testing of evidence recovered at the scene identified a suspect.
   
On August 12, 2018, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a male attended to the rear of a residence in the 400 block of Burrows Avenue where a victim was seated inside his vehicle. The male approached the driver's door, opened it and made threats to the victim. A short struggle ensued and the victim yelled for help. Family members attended and the male fled the area.
   
At approximately 1:00 p.m., a male attended to the rear of a business in the 1600 block of Main Street and damaged an electrical outlet.
   
At approximately 1:35 p.m., a North District General Patrol unit located a suspect in the 1600 block of Main Street and took him into custody.
   
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.
   
Fabian Scott Mason, a 39-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
   
  - Robbery
  - Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment
  - Break Enter & Commit - Place
   
He was detained in custody.
   
Carjacking – Arrest: C180174764
On August 12, 2018, at approximately 3:25 p.m., a male and a female were sitting in a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Balmoral Street when a male suspect approached the driver's side door and pulled it open while holding a knife.
   
The suspect attempted to pull the male out of the vehicle and made threats to harm him.
The male victim struggled to pull the door closed while the suspect continually tried to force it open. The female victim was able to put the vehicle in reserve as the male victim hit the suspect causing him to let go and flee the area.
   
The suspect then attended to the 500 block of Balmoral Street where he entered an unlocked vehicle that had been left running. The suspect reversed the vehicle into a garage and witnesses in the area pulled the suspect out of the vehicle and restrained him until Central District General Patrol officers arrived.
   
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.
   
Awasis John Beardy, a 25-year-old male of Winnipeg,has been charged with:
   
  - Robbery
  - Possession of a Weapon
  - Theft of Motor Vehicle
   
Beardy was also processed on two outstanding arrest warrants for:
   
  - Fail to Appear – Promise to Appear
  - Fail to Comply with Probation Order
   
He was detained in custody.
