Property Crime - Arrests: C18-173915
On August 14, 2018, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service, and the RCMP were contacted regarding a stolen vehicle operating on the north Perimeter Hwy.

The RCMP attended and stopped the vehicle in the area of the Perimeter Hwy. and Highway 7. An adult male and adult female were taken into custody and turned over to members of the Winnipeg Police Major Crimes Unit. Investigators determined that the two arrested persons were responsible for the following offences:
   
On April 6, 2018, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a 60-year-old female reported that she was driving in the area of St. Mary's Rd. and Morier Ave. when she was stopped by three males who advised her that she was dragging something. When the victim got out to check her vehicle, a Plymouth Voyager, one of the males entered the vehicle and drove away.
   
On May 25, 2018, a 57-year-old female reported that her wallet was stolen while she was loading shopping bags into her car in a parking lot in the first 100 block of Lakewood Blvd. The victim advised that a car slowly drove by her with a female hanging out the passenger side door. As the car was moving, the female reached into the victim's purse, pulled out her wallet and the car drove away. The victim was not injured.
   
On June 19, 2018, an adult male reported that his Dodge Caravan was stolen from the 400 block of Monreith St.
   
On July 24, 2018, an adult male reported that his bike was stolen from his garage on Popko Cr.
   
On July 30, 2018, at approximately 4:20 a.m., a break and entered into a business in the 1500 block of Main Street was reported. Keys were stolen from inside and three vehicles were stolen from the parking lot. One of the vehicles, a Chevrolet panel van, was recovered later the same day. A 2011 grey Dodge Caravan and a 2004 brown Pontiac Montana are outstanding.
   
On August 8, 2018, an adult male reported a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen from the first 100 block of Leila Ave.
   
On August 11, 2018, a 2011 Jayco trailer was reported stolen between August 8 - 11th from a storage compound in the 3000 block of Main Street.
   
On August 11, 2018, an adult male reported his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado stolen from a parking lot in the 800 block of Leila Ave.
   
Later the same day an adult male reported the licence plates from his Ford F150 were stolen.
   
On August 11, 2018, at approximately 2:40 p.m., the arrested male, and female were driving the stolen 2010 Chevrolet Silverado with the stolen Jayco trailer attached. The driver backed over a motorcycle, parked in an alley in the 200 block of Royal Avenue, narrowly missing the driver. The driver continued to back up, through a fence and sped away eastbound on Kingsbury Ave.  The two accused abandoned the truck and trailer while they were still in motion and fled on foot. Officers attended and seized the stolen truck and trailer and located the following items inside:

  • the previously stolen bicycle
  • registration for the stolen panel van
  • a licence plate belonging to stolen 2002 Chevy Silverado
  • identification belonging to the victim of stolen wallet
  • a driver's licence belonging to the victim of the vehicle robbery
  • a cheque from inside the stolen Dodge Caravan
  • forged cheques belonging to a male from Gypsumville, Manitoba

 
At approximately 3:00 p.m., the two accused stole a Volkswagon Jetta from the 500 block of Seven Oaks Ave.
   
On August 12, 2018, the stolen Jetta was recovered in the parking lot of a business by the RCMP in Lockport, Manitoba.
   
On August 14, 2018, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the male accused was operating a stolen Kia Rio in the area of Main Street and Riverbend Ave. The vehicle was bearing a licence plate stolen from a Nissan Versa. Shortly after, while driving along the north perimeter highway, the accused cut off a vehicle, colliding with it and causing extensive damage before police arrived.
   
  Michael Ray JOHNSON, a 45-year-old male, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 X9
  • Possession of Identity Document X4
  • Fail to Exchange Particulars
  • Theft Over $5000
  • Possession of Credit Card
  • Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle X2
  • Drive Suspended/While Disqualified X2
  • Possession of Forged Document with Intent

 
Kimberley-Anne STRUVE, a 31-year-old female, has been charged with:

  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 X10
  • Possession of Identity Document X4
  • Fail to Exchange Particulars
  • Theft Over $5000
  • Possession of Credit Card
