HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION – ARRESTS C12-117641
As previously released, on June 20, 2012, at approximately 7:00 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the vicinity of the first 100 block of Clayton Drive regarding a stabbing incident.
 
Attending members located a 26 year old female, identified as Kaila Latoya TRAN with serious upper body injuries. She was conveyed to hospital and has since succumbed to injuries sustained.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit.
 
The investigation has revealed that the victim's boyfriend, Drake David MOSLENKO, 27 years allegedly made arrangements to have TRAN killed as a result of a recent dispute. MOSELENKO spoke with Treyvonne Anthony Warner WILLIS, 20 years who allegedly agreed to carry out the act.
 
On June 20, 2012, at approximately 7:00 a.m., WILLIS confronted TRAN as she walked toward her vehicle. It was at this time WILLIS produced a weapon and proceeded to assault TRAN. The incident drew attention to several people in the area at which time WILLIS fled the area on foot.
 
Numerous police resources attended the area and an extensive search commenced.  
 
Members of the WPS Underwater Search and Recovery Unit recovered what is believed to be the weapon used during the incident from the Seine River.
 
On June 26, 2012, both WILLIS and MOSLENKO were arrested and charged with 1st degree Murder.
 
They have been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
  
 
PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUIRED – BODY LOCATED IN RIVER

As previously released, on Friday, June 15, 2012, at approximately 10:00 a.m., emergency responders attended to the east side of the Red River, just south of the north perimeter bridge, for a report of a body that was located in the river.
 
An autopsy has been completed and there are no signs of foul play.  
 
The deceased adult female has not been positively identified and members of the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit continue to investigate.   
 
She is believed to be between 35 – 50 years of age, approximately 5'5" in height, with a slim build and may have worn dentures.
 
Investigators are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the deceased female. The following photos consist of a variety of unique jewellery worn by the deceased:
