Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Thursday, June 28, 2012       GROUND SEARCH – WEST END/DOWNTOWN AREAS OF THE CITY The Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit, with the assistance of the WPS Ground Search and Rescue Unit, will be conducting a search today in the West End and Downtown areas of the city as a result of ongoing homicide investigations.   Officers, including two canines will be involved in a systematic search involving public and private property. The WPS is requesting the public's cooperation during this time.   In order to assist, the WPS is asking that members of the public, including the media allow for a minimum of a 50 feet working distance. This will provide minimal distractions for involved members and create the best possible working environment for the canines.   Thank you.    For further information contact either: Patrol Sgt.
