SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES – C13-110529
On Saturday, June 8, 2013 at approximately 12:30 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched for the report of a suspicious vehicle.
 
Attending officers met with the 13 & 15 year old female complainants who advised that they had been walking home and were in the area of Artillery Street and Manitoba Avenue when a vehicle approached with its lights off.  Two males exited the vehicle and the driver yelled 'Get them.'  The girls ran to their residence nearby and the two males fled in the vehicle.
 
The driver is described as: Male, Asian in appearance, approximately 5'6" in height, 30-40 years of age with a slim build and black coloured brush cut.
 
There is no description of the passenger.
 
The vehicle is described as being similar to a Toyota Rav4.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
DRUG INVESTIGATION ARRESTS – C13-111268
As a result of on-going community concerns, members of the East District Community Support Unit became involved in a lengthy drug investigation.  With the assistance of the East District Crime Unit, General Patrol, Green Team and Tactical Support Team two search warrants were executed on Sunday, June 9th in the 1st 100 block of Lukanowski Place and 100 block of Foxborough Road.
 
As a result of the investigation the following was seized.

  • 77 marihuana plants with an estimated street value of $86,000.00
  • Packaged marihuana with an estimated street value of $6,350.00
  • Grow operation equipment valued at $5,000.00
  • $7,200.00 in Canadian currency
  • 1 vehicle valued at approximately $25,000.00
  • Packaging materials and other drug paraphernalia

Two males aged 24 & 51 years and one 54 year old female all of Winnipeg were arrested and are facing multiple drug related charges. 

All three were released on Promises to Appear.
 
 
SEXUAL ASSAULT – C13-111754
On Sunday, June 9, 2013 at approximately 1:30 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a sexual assault that had just occurred.
 
Responding members met with the 17 year old victim who advised that she had been walking in the area of Portage Avenue and Harcourt Street when she noted a male to be following her.  As she walked up her driveway the male grabbed her and proceeded to perform an indecent act.  The victim was able to break free and contact police.  She was not injured during the incident.
 
The suspect is described as:Caucasian male, approximately 30 years of age, 5'5" in height with a medium to large build and full curly red beard.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 2 Crime Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-2877 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
