STOLEN VEHICLE ARREST – C13-110307
On Sunday, June 2, 2013 members of the R.C.M.P. received the report of a vehicle having been stolen from the West St Paul area.
 
On Friday, June 7, 2013 shortly before 8:30 p.m. the stolen vehicle was seen in the 500 block of Stella Avenue.  When officers attempted to stop the vehicle the driver intentionally rammed the unmarked cruiser (which had its emergency equipment activated) head on, causing minor injuries to the two officers inside.
 
The driver of the stolen vehicle then drove off and shortly thereafter struck a hydro pole after which he fled on foot.  After a brief foot pursuit the male was taken into custody without incident in the area of Flora Avenue and Parr Street.
 
Members of the East District Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.  As a result, Antonio Andrew Quijada LAVALLE 21 years of Winnipeg has been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre and is facing charges of:

 

  • Assault peace officer with weapon or causing bodily harm x 2

  • Dangerous Operation – Motor Vehicle

  • Flight from police officer

  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00

  • Breach of Probation

  • Fail to Comply Conditions Undertaking before Officer In Charge

  • Drive without a licence – with an invalid licence (HTA)
