Sunday, September 29, 2013 HOMICIDE – C13-198965 On Sunday, September 29, 2013 shortly after 4:00 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of St Marys Road & Essex Avenue for the report of a male shot.   Attending members located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.  A 22 year old male was transported to hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.  The second victim, a 27 year old male was transported in stable condition.   This investigation is in the early stages and is continuing.  Anyone who has any information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at (204) 986-6508 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).     COMMERCIAL ROBBERY ARREST – C13-198701 On Saturday, September 28, 2013 at approximately 10:30 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to a convenience store in the 800 block of Arlington Street for the report of a commercial robbery.   Responding officers located and arrested a male suspect at the scene.   It was learned that the suspect, armed and with his identity concealed had entered the store and demanded cigarettes.  The 59 year old clerk was able to lock herself away from the suspect and contacted police.   The investigation continued by members of the Major Crime Unit.   Walter Darryl BITTERN 40 years of Winnipeg has been charged with several offences for his alleged involvement and was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.     For further information contact either: Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Constable Eric Hofley, Public Information Officer Detective Sergeant Natalie Aitken, Public Information Officer Phone: (204) 986-3061 | Fax: (204) 986-3267 | Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca Share this mailing with your social network by clicking on the appropriate link:       Related Winnipeg Police Service Report a Crime Online Crime Stoppers CrimeStat Unsubscribe If you do not want to receive these emails anymore, unsubscribe.
