Update – Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision  involving a Pedestrian

As previously released - On December 19, 2014, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the intersection of Inkster Boulevard and McGregor Street regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. The involved vehicle fled the area prior to police arrival. The pedestrian was transported from the scene in critical condition however, he has since succumbed to his injuries.
 
The investigation has revealed that the 21 year-old male pedestrian was crossing Inkster Boulevard northbound at McGregor Street when he was struck by a vehicle travelling westbound on Inkster Boulevard.
 
The suspect vehicle fled the scene leaving the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.
 
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark coloured pick–up truck. Witness information suggests that a second vehicle was observed travelling in the same direction as the suspect vehicle soon after the pedestrian was hit. The occupant(s) of this vehicle may possess additional information regarding the collision and or suspect vehicle.
