Motor Vehicle Collision Involving Pedestrian Update – Male Arrested - C14-69028
As previously released, on April 5, 2014 at approximately 5:30 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the Intersection of Donald Street and Broadway for the report of a motor vehicle collision.
 
Upon arrival a 23-year-old female was located and transported to hospital in unstable condition where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
Initial investigation revealed that the victim had been crossing the eastbound lanes of Broadway at Donald Street when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle.
 
A 25-year-old-male was arrested at the scene and later released without charge pending further investigation.
 
Members of the Central Traffic Unit continued with the investigation.
 
On January 19, 2015 the 25-year-old male of Steinbach, Mb was arrested and is facing the following charges for his alleged involvement:

  • Driving While Ability Impaired Causing Death
  • Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle Causing Death

He was released via a Promise to Appear.
