Update - Serious Motor Vehicle Collision –
Male Arrested - C14-229022

As previously released -On October 26, 2014 at approximately 2:40 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a hit and run motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Marbury Road and Mapleglen Drive.
 
The investigation revealed that the occupants of two vehicles became involved in dispute, possibly due to manner of driving.
 
At one point, the occupants of a black, Infiniti G35 stopped in the area and a 31 year-old male passenger exited the vehicle in attempt to speak with the other driver. The driver of the suspect vehicle, still in the area, suddenly drove in the direction of the male passenger, now out in the roadway, striking him while travelling at a high rate of speed.
 
The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Members of the Homicide Unit identified Terrence Jack MCKAY, 24 years as a suspect however attempts to locate him were unsuccessful.  The public's assistance in locating him was requested.
 
On January 12, 2015 shortly before 4:00 a.m. MCKAY was located and arrested without incident within a residence in the North End area of the city.
 
MCKAY has been charged with the following for his alleged involvement:

  • Second Degree Murder
  • Causing Death by Criminal Negligence
  • Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident Involving Death
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Death

He was detained in custody.
