Update - Sudden Death Investigation C15-11440
As previously released - On January 17, 2015 at approximately 1:10 a.m., officers responded to a home located in the 100 block of Lorne Avenue regarding an unresponsive female.
Initially, investigators determined that a female had been involved in an altercation resulting in her becoming unresponsive. Occupants of the home came to her aide and notified emergency personnel.
An 18 year-old female was transported to hospital in critical condition where she was later pronounced deceased.
Members of the Homicide Unit were notified and continued to investigate.
An autopsy was completed Saturday afternoon and it appears that the cause of death is medically related, therefore, criminal charges are not being pursued at this time.
Motor Vehicle Collision C15-11595
On January 17, 2015 at approximately 9:25 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of the 400 block of Notre Dame Avenue regarding a serious collision involving a vehicle into a nearby business.
At this time, it has been determined that a Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service ambulance was travelling westbound on Notre Dame Avenue approaching a green light at Isabel Street. As the ambulance entered the intersection, a pick-up truck was observed travelling northbound on Isabel Street. The two vehicles collided causing the truck to crash into the southeast facing of a nearby jewellery store. Significant damage was caused.
The four occupants of the truck and the two occupants of the ambulance were not seriously injured.
The investigation continues.
