Male Shot Investigation – C15-125936
On June 17, 2015, shortly after 5:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended to the 2700 block of Portage Avenue for the report of the sounds of shots.
 
During the investigation, it was learned that an adult male had attended to hospital suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body.  He is listed in stable condition.
 
No further information is available at this time.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
Vehicle Break & Enter Arrests – C15-124238
On June 15, 2015, shortly after 4:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 200 block of Sansome Avenue for the report of two males going through vehicles.
 
Several units, including Canine attended and after a lengthy foot pursuit, both suspects were apprehended.  Property stolen from some of the vehicles was recovered.
 
Further investigation led to a Search Warrant being executed in the 500 block of Rouge Road.  The search resulted in the location and seizure of further stolen property, the origin of which is unknown at this time.
 
Two 19-year-old males, both of Winnipeg, are facing charges of Theft Under $5000.00, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.00 and Tamper with a motor vehicle (HTA).
 
They were released via Promises to Appear.
 
Investigators are requesting that anyone who may have been the victim of a Theft or Break & Enter and has not yet reported it to police, to please do so, along with a detailed description of the stolen property in hopes that it may be reunited with its rightful owner.

Child Abuse Imagery Arrest – R15-23910
In late March of 2015, members of the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit became aware of an individual who was allegedly in possession of child pornography.  An investigation was subsequently initiated.
 
On June 16th the suspect was arrested without incident.
 
The 77-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of Child Pornography
  • Imports, Distributes, Sells or Possesses for the Purpose of Distribution or Sale any Child Pornography
  • Access any Child Pornography

 He was released on a Promise to Appear.
