Bank Inspector Fraud Warning
The Winnipeg Police Service Commercial Crime Unit has been made aware of a complaint regarding a person posing as a bank representative. These persons generally target seniors and pose as bank representatives and have personal information regarding the victim's bank accounts.
This person or persons request assistance in an investigation they claim to be conducting by having the victim withdraw a large sum of money from their account and deliver it to him at a location other than the bank. This is done under the guise of keeping the investigation confidential.
The Winnipeg Police Service would like to take this opportunity to advise the public that this is not legitimate and is a scam.
Anyone contacted in this fashion is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Commercial Crime Unit at 204-986-6231 or the Police non-emergency line at 204-986-6222.

For further information contact either:
Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer
