Update - Arson Investigation – Public Assistance Required – C15-94661
As previously released -On May 10, 2015, shortly after 11:10 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were on patrol in the 500 block of Bannatyne Avenue when they, along with area residents, observed smoke coming from a vacant apartment block. Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service attended at which time the fire was brought under control. There were no reports of any injuries and damage was estimated at 2.4 million dollars.
 
An investigation was undertaken by the Office of the Fire Commissioner which has concluded that the fire was the result of arson.
 
The investigation is now continuing by members of the Arson Unit. It has been determined that another fire was also set in the same area at approximately 12:30 a.m. The second fire occurred outside near a building causing minimal damage.

Three youth suspects were observed in the area wearing dark clothing and are believed to be involved in both incidents.
