Update – Homicide Investigation – C15-175738
As previously released - On August 22, 2015, shortly before 5:00 a.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the 1st 100 block of Donwood Drive for the report of an injured male.

An adult male was located suffering from injuries consistent with being stabbed. He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he later died of his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as: Darryl Arthur ABRAHAM, 36-years-old of Winnipeg.

No arrest(s) have been made at this time. The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with further information regarding this investigation is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).


Sexual Assault Investigation – C15-172423
On the evening of August 17, 2015, members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a sexual assault.

Officers met with the victim who advised that at approximately 3:15 p.m. that afternoon she had been walking in the area of Aikins Street and Stella Avenue when she encountered an unknown male walking towards her.  As they met, the suspect began asking inappropriate questions and then grabbed the victim in the lower body.  The victim was able to break free and flee the area.

The suspect is described as: Aboriginal in appearance, 30-40 years, 5'6" tall with a medium build, long dark hair in a pony-tail and a cross tattoo on his right ear lobe.  He was wearing a dark coloured, open zip up hoodie; black 'Jack Daniels' t-shirt, dark pants and sunglasses.

The investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-2848 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
