Robbery Investigation Update – Second Arrest – C15-156604
As previously released, on July 27, 2015, the Winnipeg Police Service received two reports of similar robberies that had occurred on separate transit buses.

In the first incident, members met with the victim who advised that at approximately 10:00 a.m. she had been sitting on a transit bus at Mountain Avenue and Arlington Street when two unknown males approached her from behind.  One of the males grabbed her phone and then both males fled.  She was not injured.

In the second, the victim advised that at approximately 11:30 a.m. she had been sitting on a transit bus at Inkster Avenue and Arlington Street when an unknown male grabbed the phone from her hand and fled.  She was not injured.

The investigation continued by members of the District 3 Crime Unit.  Attempts to identify the two suspects had been unsuccessful and investigators released their photos, asking for the public's assistance in identifying them.  With their assistance, the two suspects were identified.

On August 27th, Kyle James LETANDRE, 23 years, of Winnipeg was located and arrested for his alleged involvement.  He was detained in custody.

For his alleged involvement, a warrant of arrest was obtained for the second suspect, Walter Aaron Russell BEAR, 20 years, of Winnipeg.     Attempts to locate him were unsuccessful and on August 29th the public's assistance was requested in locating him.

That same day investigators located and arrested BEAR without incident.  He has been charged with Robbery x 2, Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2 and was later detained in custody.
