Thursday, August 27, 2015 Reduced Speeds in School Zones In June of 2014 the City of Winnipeg Standing Policy Committee on Infrastructure Renewal and Public Works voted in favour of reducing speed limits in the area of elementary schools. Starting September 1, 2015, reduced speeds in school zones will be back in effect. The following signs are posted in the areas around 171 Winnipeg schools.        Enforcement of these reduced speed zones, in compliance with the Reduced-Speed School Zone Regulation found in the Manitoba Highway Traffic Act, will include both traditional and photo enforcement to ensure the safety of our children.
