Fatal MVC Update C15-159097
As previously released, on Thursday, July 30 2015 approximately 6:25 p.m. the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the intersection of William Avenue and Arlington Street for a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

The investigation determined that an adult female was walking eastbound at the intersection of Arlington Street at William Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle.  The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition, but was pronounced deceased later yesterday evening.

The investigation has revealed that two vehicles were in the intersection at the time of the collision: the first was a darker coloured 4-door sedan that was making a north bound turn onto Arlington Street from east bound William Avenue; the other was a white coloured GMC extended cab. It is likely that the occupants of these vehicles witnessed the incident.

The Winnipeg Police Service is asking anyone that may have witnessed the collision to contact investigators in the Central Traffic Unit at (204) 986-6271. No charges have been laid at this time.
