Sexual Assault Investigation – C15-214374
On October 11, 2015 at approximately 2:00 a.m., a 16-year-old female was out with friends when she stopped at a fast food restaurant located on Notre Dame Avenue near McPhillips Street to use the washroom.

As she was attempting to catch up with her friends, she was confronted from behind by an unknown male as she turned into the lane between Burnell Street and Banning Street.  

The victim was pushed to the ground at which time a serious sexual assault occurred. The victim struggled, managed to break free and ran home. Members of the Winnipeg Police Service were notified and met with the victim and her family.

She sustained minor injuries however was transported to hospital for further examination.

The suspect is described as a male with a heavy build (potbelly) approximately 5'10"-6'00" tall, wearing: dark jeans, a ski mask and gloves.

Members of the Sex Crimes Unit continue to investigate. Anyone with further information regarding the assault or suspect involved is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
