Sexual Assault Investigation – C15-224818
On October 25, 2015, shortly before 3:30 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a sexual assault that had just occurred.
Members met with the victim who advised that she had been walking on Sargent Avenue near Simcoe Street when an unknown male grabbed and then attempted to push her into a back lane.  The victim was able to break free and flee the area.
The suspect is described as: Black, approximately 40 years of age, 6' tall with short black hair and a short, trimmed black beard.  He had a heavy African accent and was wearing a beige jacket.
The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
