Poppy Box Theft Investigation – C15-232693
On November 4, 2015, the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a Poppy box theft that occurred at a business located in the 700 block of St. Anne's Road.

The investigation has revealed that a male suspect entered the store at approximately 10:25 a.m. and immediately attended to the customer service counter. Staff members then asked the male if he was in need of assistance, which he indicated he was not. The suspect then grabbed the donation box and concealed it under his jacket as he fled the store.

Staff attempted to follow the male however, was unable to catch up with him.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 20-30-years-old, 5'8" tall, medium build, short light brown hair, wearing a black winter jacket, black pants, Jets scarf and black shoes.

 

 

The investigation is continuing by members of the East District Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident or further details regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to contact detectives at 204-986-2857 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).


Assault Investigation Arrests – C15-242261
On November 17, 2015 at approximately 12:35 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a high school located in the 700 block of St. Mary's Road regarding an assault incident.

It's been determined that a former and current student targeted a 15-year-old female student and physically assaulted her while inside a washroom within the school. During the assault, screaming could be heard alerting staff and students. The victim sustained minor upper body injuries.

The 16-year-old former student fled the school however was located by officers a short distance away and arrested. The second suspect, a 14-year-old female was also located and arrested.   

The 16-year-old has been charged with Assault and Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking x 6. She was remanded into custody.     

The 14-year-old is facing the following charge: Assault.

She was released on a Promise to Appear.
