Update - Missing Person – John Hastings – C15-219519
As previously released, John Hastings was reported as missing and last seen on October 16, 2015 in the downtown area of Winnipeg.

HASTINGS is described as an Aboriginal male, 5'9" tall, thin build, short black hair, unshaven, thin goatee and moustache and brown eyes. HASTINGS was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt with grey markings on the sleeves and black jeans.

As a result of the on-going investigation, the Winnipeg Police Service has learned that a male, with a similar description to HASTINGS, was observed hitchhiking in the area of Waywayseecappo, Manitoba on October 19, 2015, a community approximately 4 hours northwest of Winnipeg.

Further information suggests that the male hitchhiking was picked up by a vehicle, later involved in a serious motor vehicle collision. The hitchhiker is believed to have walked away after the collision, not having any contact with emergency personnel dispatched to the scene.

Anyone with information regarding the hitchhiker observed in the Waywayseecappo area or any other information pertinent to this investigation is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service, Missing Person's Unit at 204-986-6250.
