Monday, February 29, 2016     Drug Warrant Arrests – C16-41027 Recently, members of the Winnipeg Police Service East District Community Support Unit became aware of on-going drug activity at a residence in the 500 block of Johnson Avenue East.  The investigation resulted in a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) Search Warrant being obtained. On February 27th, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, the warrant was executed.  Two individuals within the residence were taken into custody without incident. A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of the following:    222 grams of marihuana with an estimated street value of $1500.00 $240.00 Canadian currency Drug paraphernalia  For their alleged involvement, a 27-year-old female and 32-year-old male, both of Winnipeg are both facing charges of Traffic in Scheduled Substance – CANNABIS (MARIHUANA), Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – CANNABIS (MARIHUANA) and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime. Both were released via Promises to Appear.
