Update - Fire Investigation Continues - C15-222704
Public Assistance requested:
As previously released, on October 21, 2015 at approximately 2:30 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a fire at a condominium complex located in the area of the 2400 block of Waverley Street.
Upon arrival, a large apartment complex under construction was fully engulfed in flames. Nearby homes were evacuated as a precaution while emergency crews extinguished the blaze. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Damage has been estimated at 3.5 million dollars and the cause is considered suspicious in nature.
The investigation has since revealed that another nearby construction site located at 100 Southview Crescent was broken into during the same time frame as the fire. Evidence of drinking alcohol at this site, including an accelerant was located and seized by investigators. As a result, it is believed that the individuals who broke into the construction site on Southview Crescent may be associated to the fire on Waverley Street.

Robbery Investigation – C16-52786
On March 15, 2016, at approximately 7:25 a.m., a 31-year-old female was walking in the area of Sinclair Street and College Avenue while on her way to work when she was confronted from behind by two unknown males.
The suspects took hold of the victim and threatened her with a weapon. She was then robbed of various personal items before they fled the area on foot.
The victim was not injured and returned home and contacted police.
Members of the District 3 Crime Unit were notified and continue to investigate. As a result, surveillance photos of the suspects allegedly involved were located at a nearby business.
Suspect 1 - Caucasian male, in his twenties, 5'6"- 5'8" tall, medium build, brown hair, wearing a dark hoodie.
Suspect 2- taller than the first male.

Suspicious Incidents – C16-57868 C16-57919
On March 22, 2016 between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were notified of two separate incidents involving a suspicious male approaching young females as they walked to school.
The first instance occurred when a 13-year-old girl was walking in the 800 block of Banning Street when she was confronted by a male in a vehicle. The suspect made sexually explicit comments causing the victim to flee the immediate area and notify an adult nearby.
A short time later, in the same area, a 15-year-old girl was approached in the same manner. Again, inappropriate comments were made causing the victim to leave the area and report the incident.
No contact was made during either occasion and the victims were not injured.
The suspect is described as: male, Caucasian, 20-30-years-old, brown eyes, wearing a grey baseball cap, grey hoodie and black footwear.
He was observed operating a: grey Toyota mini-van.
