Fire Investigation – C16-79950
On April 23, 2016, at approximately 3:45 a.m. emergency personnel responded to a working fire at a new residential construction site located on the south-west corner of Maryland Street and Westminster Avenue.
   
Upon arrival, the new construction site was fully engulfed. Fire had also spread to the residence to the immediate south, and a residence to the immediate west in the 700 block of Westminster Street. Occupants of both buildings had managed to exit the dwellings prior to emergency personnel arriving. Residents of several houses on Dundurn Place were evacuated by police as a precaution.
   
Two occupants of a residence in the one hundred block of Maryland Street, and four members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were taken to hospital for injuries sustained by the fire. All the victims are currently in stable condition.
   
Damage estimates are not available at this time.
 
The cause of the fire is under investigation by members of the Winnipeg Police Arson Unit.

Fire Investigation – C16-79980
On April 23, 2016, at approximately 5:45 emergency personnel responded to a report of a garage fire in the one hundred block of Chestnut Street.
   
Upon arrival officers were met with a working fire at two adjacent garages. Extensive damage was sustained to two vehicles and the contents of both garages. There were no injuries. A damage estimate is unavailable at this time.
   
The cause of the fire is under investigation by members of the Winnipeg Police Arson Unit.

Weapon Arrest – C16-79259
On April 22, 2016, at approximately 9:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police responded to a weapon call in the area of Henderson Highway and McLeod Avenue. It was reported that a male, armed with a knife, was disrupting traffic at this intersection.
   
Officers from East District general patrol responded and were able to arrest the suspect without incident.
   
Jacob Anthony MOUSSEAU, 23-years-old, of Winnipeg, was charged with the following offences:
   
  -       Causing a Disturbance
  -       Possess Weapon
  -       Fail to Comply with Conditions of Recognizance x 2
   
Moussea was detained in custody.   
   
   
Grow Operation Arrests – R16-16743
On April 19, 2016 after a lengthy investigation, members of the Marihuana Grow Operation Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team executed multiple Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrants at residences in the following areas.
   
 As a result of the searches conducted, the following was located and seized by officers:
   
200 block of Smart Street– 382 marihuana plants – estimated street value of $427,840.00, 15 pounds of harvested marihuana – estimated street value of over $38,250.00 and $11,000.00 worth of grow operation equipment.
   
600 block of Redwood Avenue– 136 marihuana plants – estimated street value of $152,320.00 and $9,290.00 worth of grow operation equipment.
   
800 block of Pritchard Avenue– No active grow operation was located, however evidence of one being present in the past was observed. 
   
On the same date,Trieu Tri TRANVO, a 19-year-old male, Van Son TRAN, a 64-year-old male, Thi Lieu VO, a 53-year-old female and Trieu Thuan TRANVO, a 22-year-old male were arrested andcharged with numerous drug related offences due to their alleged involvement.
   
They have been remanded into custody.
