Theft Investigation – Public Assistance Requested – R16-23895
On March 26, 2016 at approximately 4:45 p.m., a 58-year-old female exited a transit bus while in the area of Main Street and Alfred Avenue.

Due to leaving the bus in haste, she realized that she left her back-pack behind containing various personal items.

A short time later, the victim caught up with the bus and spoke to the driver about leaving her backpack behind. It was confirmed that her backpack was no longer on the bus realizing a theft likely occurred.

The Winnipeg Police Service was notified of the theft and members of the District 3 Crime Unit followed-up the incident.

Surveillance footage indicates that an unknown male exits the bus while in possession of the victim's back-pack. Detectives are requesting the public's assistance in identifying the following person of interest.

Impaired Driver Arrest – C16-79110

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. on 22 April 2016 a passenger vehicle was stolen in the area of Edmonton Street and St. Mary Avenue. Shortly before 1:00 a.m. the same stolen vehicle was travelling north bound on Ellice Avenue approaching Balmoral Street.

Two other vehicles were stopped for a traffic signal at this same intersection. One of these vehicles was a marked Winnipeg Police general patrol unit. The stolen vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed and collided with the police vehicle.

The two officers in the police vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the stolen vehicle was not injured.

A 24-year-old female resident of Bloodvein First Nation, Manitoba was arrested at the scene. Bambi Lyn GOOSEHEAD was charged with the following offences:

-        Assault Peace Officer x 2

-        Assault Peace Officer with Weapon x 2

-        Drive While Impaired Cause Bodily Harm x 2

-        Drive Without Licence

-        Theft Over $5,000

-        Possess Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

Goosehead was detained in custody.
