Assault Investigation Update – Arrests - C16-63015
As previously released, on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at approximately 8:45 a.m., Winnipeg Police responded a report of an assault that had occurred in the vicinity of Lagimodiere Boulevard and Headmaster Row.  The information received was that a dispute had occurred between the occupants of two vehicles that were waiting in line in the drive-through of a local restaurant.

As a result of the altercation, the driver of one of the vehicles, a 65-year old male from the R. M. of Springfield, suffered an apparent stab wound. The victim was treated by Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation continued by members of the East District Crime Unit.

It was learned that the 65-year-old male had become upset and approached the vehicle in front of him, where he proceeded to assault a male who was seated in the front passenger seat.  The passenger exited his vehicle and a second physical altercation occurred which resulted in the male being stabbed.

Investigators were able to identify the male passenger and on March 31st he was located and arrested without incident.  The 21-year-old male of East St Paul, Mb is facing a charge of Assault with a Weapon.

On April 1st the 65-year-old male was arrested and is a facing a charge of Assault.

Both were released via Promise to Appear.
